if you really do leave (w/o me)
i know exactly what will happen

i will die     i will die in spirit
coma
i will collapse and be carried
to s f general where they will
     feed me with tubes
     evacuate me with enemas
     turn me over every 3 hours
     wipe my flesh with cold antiseptic
          broadcast my pallid face
          on the 10 o clock news

while i sleep a painless sleep
     no dreams
     no heartbreak
     no poems
     no joy
     no tears
     no zeeky
     no more crosses to bear

if you are certain if you will leave (w/o me)
it will be best to
     destroy
     break
     tear up
     burn
     mutilate
every single gift i gave you
     including this letter      including little ducky

and forget
     every nice thing i ever said to you
     every dear hug
     every kiss    every touch
     every teardrop
     my face
     my scent
     my crotch shots
     my charming little ways of devotion
     you ever knew me
