EVER WONDER WHERE CAME THE IDEA TO WEAR
   THE PINK TRIANGLE POINT UP?
2-Long suppressed, 2-long concealed,
The truth of this I now reveal (take
   note),
From a dispatch to Sentinel/BAR, and I
   quote:

  "The reason I broke tradition
  by painting the pink triangle
  upward-pointing (instead of
  down) is to symbolize the
  ascension of the gay
  community, and a reversal of
  the world's attitude from
  negative to positive."

This is part of a letter from Spring '89
To propose a NU-FLAG for our FagDyke
   OneMind:
Golden snake in triangle lake, purple/
   white stripes, red star on the right,
And..."Don't Tread On Me" for the
   bannerly phrase,
Repeating our nation's colonial days.

I have since changed design to 5 rain-
   bow stripes
(Red\Yellow\Blue\Purple\&\Lime);
Metallic gold snake into chrome serpen-
   tine
(On flickery tongue does bright orange
   shine);
2 ruby-red SnakeEyes instead of blood
   star;
"Don't Tread On Me" now
   "Don't Tread On MOI".

(Isn't that a GayFunnyQueer line?  Yea!
It is mine, it is mine, it is mine!)
