Sitting in a dandelion patch,
The little rabbit twitches his nose,
Sniffing new-mown hay
And fields where corn will grow.

His ears bent back,
Trembling and alert,
The rabbit watches out
For things that kill or hurt.

But no harm shall come to him
Who trusts in Nature's way,
And asks for nothing more
Than what one needs today.
